Born Pretty Store Review: Short Clear Jelly Stamper, Sea Theme Stamping Plate, 3D Spike Studs, Chameleon Flakies, Fish Scale Glitter & Water Decals

Press Sample / Purchased By Me / Gift / Giveaway Prize / Past Press Sample

Hi guys, I hope you're all doing well. Today I have a review of some items sent to me by Born Pretty Store, so let's get to it.
First up is the Short Clear Jelly Stamper (#39374), I used it for the first 2 manis I will be showing you. I usually have a tricky time when I'm first using a new-to-me stamper, and of course that happened this time too. I feel like I have to get used to the stamper before I can start to pick up a decent image. I was able to pick up a pretty good image the first time I used the stamper, but the rest didn't come out too good, and sometimes I couldn't even pick up anything at all. I kept trying, but had no luck. (So I finished the mani with another BPS stamper I reviewed in the past.) I decided to give the stamper another shot a few days later, and I was able to pick up more images. I think I was pushing down too hard on the stamper when I first tried it out, so the second time, I tried applying less pressure when I picked up an image. The images looked way better. Like I said before, I also used the clear stamper for the second mani. I painted the eyes and mouth for the unicorn (yes, there's a unicorn mani coming up) onto the stamper head and then transferred them by stamping them on my nail. I loved that the clear stamper let me see exactly where I was placing the image. I definitely recommend it, even if you're like me and you're not the best at stamping, you'll only need practice to make it work for you.
Next up is this Sea Theme Stamping Plate Harunouta-L012 (#34582). It has some nice images which include: sea turtles, seahorses, shells, jellyfish, etc. The only image I was able to pick up with the stamper was the turtle image, so I did switch out my stamper. I had no real issues with the image quality, and I liked the images.

Next are these 3D Spike Studs (#6449, Silver). The listing says it has 10 pcs. They worked perfectly for the unicorn mani I did, which I was inspired to do after I saw Hannah's mani. Using a stud as a unicorn horn was a wonderful idea, and I think it looks cute. I used a crayon to pick up and place the stud.
I also thought I'd add some holo glitter over the gradient for a different look.

The next items are the Chameleon Flakies (#39759, #1 & #2), I was actually supposed to receive #3 instead of #2, but I only realized it wasn't the right color once I had it on my nail. I let Cynthia from Born Pretty Store know, and like always, she was very nice about it and she'll be sending the right one later, so you guys can look forward to that. Anyway, I went ahead and used the flakies to show them to you. Both flakies were used over different colors, I hope you like them.

First up are Chameleon Flakies #1. They are supposed to look mostly red with a bit of orange and blue green. I decided to put them over a navy blue because I thought the red and blue would look pretty cool, which it did. I did try using the eye shadow applicator it comes with, but I preferred just using my finger instead, application is completely up to you. I applied my second coat of polish and let it dry a bit, then I grabbed some flakies with my finger and tapped them onto my nail. It's as easy as it sounds. If you still want to add more and the polish is dry, just add a bit of clear polish and let that get tacky so you can pat the flakies on. You can see I covered my ring nail completely with the flakies, and I only added a little amount on the rest of my nails so you can see what it looks like both ways. I loved how easy it was to use the flakies, especially that I didn't need any special gel polishes to use them. You can use these over regular polish and even with regular top coat and I love that!

Chameleon Flakies #2 are supposed to look blue and green, so I used a dark red as my base. The reason I used colors instead of black as my base was because I wanted to show you how they'd look over a color that wasn't black, which is what you mostly see them over. They look pretty cool right? Anyway, application was the same as before.

The Fish Scale Glitter (#39110, #6) is up next. I picked the orange glitter because I love orange mermaid tails ever since I watched H20: Just Add Water, hehe. It's such a fun show. Well moving on, I knew I wanted to do a mermaid mani with these, and I love how it came out. I did some glitter placement with the glitter which is just like any other glitter placement, time consuming, but worth it. I placed the glitter on a black base because they seemed to pop more over black instead of a similar color. Also, the glitters shift color so beautifully from orange to green. The glitter is easy to work with, but you will need a generous amount of top coat to have a smooth surface.

The last items I received were some Water Decals (#8116, #D212 White & #D193 White). Using them is quite simple, you cut out the image you'll be using, remove the plastic film and drop it into some water for around 20 seconds. You can then take it out of the water and the decal will slide right off the paper. Then you just have to place it on your nail, and once happy with where it is, you can use a paper towel and pat it over the nail so the extra water will be absorbed. At one point, the decal got stuck onto itself and I thought I wouldn't be able to use it anymore, but I found that you can just dip it into the water again and that'll help you with un-sticking it from itself. This happened to me twice, so it was helpful to just dip it into the water again to fix the problem. Just a tip in case it happens to you.

The first Water Decals (#D212 White) are a beautiful feather pattern. I knew I had to use a teal polish because the images are peacock feathers, which just seemed appropriate. I also used a textured polish that had some teal shimmer and silver glitter, so I added some silver dots on the feather pattern to complete it.

The second Water Decals (#D193 White) are a pretty pattern of stars and a moon. I really wanted to use the curved part of the decal to create a half moon mani, and I didn't realize I'd be cutting off most of the moon image since my nails aren't very long. But I think the mani still ended up looking nice. I hope you all like it.
