Born Pretty Store Review: Fruit Nail Water Decals, Holo Nail Foils, Chameleon/Unicorn Iridescent Flakies, & Gel Base Coat/No Wipe Gel Top Coat

 Press Sample

Hey guys! Today I have some items from Born Pretty Store to share with you. So let's get to it.
First up, we have these Fruit Nail Water Decals (#25787, 044). They have images that include fruits and leaves.
For my fruit mani, I went with a yellow base. I chose the fruits I wanted to use, and then cut them out. Once cut, I removed the film cover and then submerged them in water, one-by-one. When they were ready, I just slid the decals off the paper and placed them on my nails. I used a napkin to absorb any excess water, and then applied top coat.

Next, we have the first set of Holo Nail Foils (#41714, #1). The box comes with 10 holo different-colored foils. This time, I had no trouble with transferring the foil onto my nails, it worked perfectly. By the way, it is recommended that you use a gel top coat, so the foil effect won't be dulled out. I did use the gel top coat from Born Pretty Store as well, which I'll talk about later.
For this mani, I wanted to use a few of the colors, so I decided to try to do a gradient. I picked the pink, purple and blue foils. I started with a black base, applied some foil glue on my nails, and let that dry. Then, I took pieces of the foils I'd be using, and placed them on my nail. I began with the pink foil, placing it on the top third of my nail. The blue went on the bottom third of my nail, and then the purple in the middle. I did add more foil glue in places I wanted to add a bit more foil on. To finish off, I applied the gel top coat. I loved the holo effect, and the foils were easy to work with.

The next item, was this second box of Shattered Triangle Nail Foils (#41714, #2). These are also holo, and the box comes with 10 different-colored foils. The foil has a sort of shattered pattern which looks really nice. Again, these were easy to work with.
For this mani design, I went with a black base and then applied the nail foil glue. Once that dried, I began to apply the foils. I wanted to do a sort of triangle half-moon mani, so I placed the gold foil at an angle to get a triangle at the top. After doing the triangles, I placed the black foil on the rest of my nail. To finish off, I applied some gel top coat. This mani was so fun to create, and it looked so cool.

So, next we have the Chameleon/Unicorn Iridescent Flakies (#40879). They came sealed in a little container, and they are so beautiful. It is recommended you use a gel top coat with these, so I took the opportunity to use the base coat, gel top coat, and flakies to do a whole mani.
Close-Up:
This is the Gel Base Coat (#39795). It's supposed to help your mani stay on longer, and protect your nails from staining. I had a mani stay on for around a week, which is pretty good because it was my first experience with it.
This is the No Wipe Gel Top Coat (#39795). I loved how glossy it was after curing. Also, I found that a little goes a long way, so make sure you apply thin coats.
So, here's the last mani I did using both the Gel Base and Top Coat, plus the Iridescent Flakies. I began by buffing my nails a bit to remove the shine from my natural nails, and then washing my hands to get rid of any dirt or oils. Prior to this step, you will want to push back your cuticles for a nicer look. Anyway, after my nails were prepped, I went ahead and applied a thin coat of the base coat and cured it. The white gel polish came after, which I did 2 coats of, curing after each coat. Lastly, I applied a thin coat of the top coat and cured it. I then took a small amount of the flakies on the applicator it comes with, and I pressed them onto my nail. Once I had a good amount on the nail, I proceeded to buff them into the nail. Buffing the flakies gave the nail such a pretty iridescent shine to them. When I finished that, I brushed away any excess flakie powder with a brush, and applied the last coat of gel top coat. My nails were so shiny and glossy after curing, just perfect.
