A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Inspired by the Season / Glam Nails Challenge: Dec.03 - Snowflakes

Hi guys! This month's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows is 'Inspired by the Season', and the Glam Nails Challenge theme for Dec.01 is Snowflakes, so I thought I would just combine them both. I chose a beautiful teal jelly with glitter as my base, and I stamped on some snowflakes. To add a bit more color, I applied some gold holo glitter on the stamping. I hope you all like it.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Halloween

Hi guys! Today I have another mani for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows. This month's theme is Halloween, so I thought I'd do a cemetery scene. For my base I did a coat of white so my orange/yellow gradient would be bright. When that was done, I went ahead and stamped on the images. Last thing to do was to add top coat.
Close-Ups:
I really hope you guys liked these. Also, be ready for more Halloween manis because I'm participating in a challenge. It's been a while since my last one, so I hope I can get through it. I already posted my first one yesterday, so go check it out in case you missed it.

Thanks for stopping by, and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Dotticure

Hi guys! So I'm a few days late, but better late than never. This month's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Dotticure. I knew I wanted to use Fall colors, but didn't have a specific idea on how I'd be placing the dots. I was a bit inspired after seeing a dotticure mani by Jessica on Instagram, I just loved the colors she used. You should definitely go check out her page. Anyway, here's my mani.
Close-Ups:
I don't have different sized dotting tools, so I just tried making different sized dots with what I had. But I do feel like I overdid it with the dots. I hope you guys still like it though.

As always, thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Skittles

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Past Press Sample

Hi guys! It's been forever since I last posted a mani for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows, which is now every month instead of every week. This month's theme is skittle manis, I hope you like what I came up with. I started with a coat of white polish so my colors would pop, once that dried, I applied my colors. For my accent nail I chose a tribal looking design from my Celebration BPX-L008 stamping plate. I picked up the design and did some reverse stamping. When I finished filling in the colors I went ahead and stamped it on my nail. Once everything was dry, I applied top coat. Unfortunately, I accidentally smeared my design. But other than that, I loved how it looked.
Close-Ups:
Well I hope you love this mani as much as I did. Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Mermaid

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Happy Thursday guys! So today's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was one I definitely couldn't pass up. Rainbow Mermaid! I think I could've done a better mani, but I still like how it came out.
I started off with a dark blue-green as my base color for my index, middle and pinky; and on my ring finger I went with an amazing glitter filled blue jelly polish. Since I was going to use vinyls, I added a layer of top coat on my index and middle finger and let it dry completely. Once dry, I added the vinyl and then a coat of Avalon 2.0 over that. Then I took off the vinyl while the polish was still wet. I decided to sponge on some flakies on my pinky, and I added some loose glitter on top while the polish was still tacky. When everything dried I added the final layer of top coat, and then completed the look by placing the studs and rhinestones on my nails. I was very excited to finally use some of the beach-y studs I had on hand.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Chevron

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Happy Thursday guys, I hope you're all doing well. Today's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows is Rainbow Chevron. I hope you like what I came up with.
I started off with a white base, and while that dried I prepared my acrylic paints. I watered down the 4 different paints quite a bit, when the white polish was dry I began to apply the paints in random patterns with a brush. I did swirl them around a bit so they would mix and it gave it a pretty cool look. Once the paint dried I added a layer of top coat because I was going to use vinyls. I applied the vinyls and sponged on black polish over them, then I removed the vinyls off while the polish was still wet. I let my nails dry for a bit before applying the last layer of top coat. Unfortunately, I don't think I waited enough because I smeared the polish a bit.
Close-Ups:
I like how the design came out, and it was fun to do. If you decide to give this look a try, remember to use my hashtag on Instagram so I can see it, it's #annypolishandpaint.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Love

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Hi guys, I hope your Saturday is going better than mine. I'm sick, and I feel horrible. Thursday's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Rainbow Love, I was supposed to post this yesterday at the latest, but I wasn't able to so I apologize. So, I did this mani pretty quickly while on the couch, which was kind of difficult. Lol. But here's what I came up with, I hope you like it.
I started with a white crelly from Stardust Polish (now Stardust Beauty) on my index finger, ring finger and pinky. On my middle finger I used a bright and pretty textured polish from Sinful Colors. When each nail was opaque I top coated because I'd be using a nail vinyl. I placed the nail vinyl on my ring finger and applied the textured polish over it. Remember to remove the vinyl right away before the polish dries. To kind of tie the look together, I added 3 dots down my index and pinky as well. Once everything dried, I top coated.
Close-Ups:
It was a very simple mani, but I hope you guys liked it. Thanks for stopping by, may you have a wonderful weekend and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Tribal

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Happy Thursday guys, today I bring you another colorful mani. This week's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Rainbow Tribal, so I decided to do a rainbow gradient under the tribal design. Not only did I use the rainbow colors to do the gradient, but they're holo, which adds another beautiful rainbow. Check it out.
I started off with a coat of my "yellow" sandy polish and let that dry. Then, I proceeded to apply my colors on the sponge and dabbed it on my nails, 2 coats on each nail. Since I was going to use vinyls, I added some top coat and waited a while until it was fully dry. Afterwards, I applied the vinyls and then sponged on black polish over them. One by one I did this on my nails, and I removed the vinyls right away when the polish was still wet. All that was left to do was finish with top coat after the black polish dried.
Close-Ups:
So what do you think? I pretty much fell in love with the gradient alone, but the tribal was still pretty cool. The only thing that I messed up was the placement of the vinyl on my middle finger, it came out all crooked which kinda messed up the mani for me. Other than that I was really pleased with the design. Oh, and my sister wanted to see these matte, so you get to see them too.
Close-Ups:
Well I hope you guys liked this mani. Thank you for stopping by, and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Watercolor

Purchased By Me / Press Sample

Happy Thursday everyone! Today's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows is Rainbow Watercolor. I was inspired by @just1nail on Instagram, she just recently did a watercolor mani and I thought it was perfect for this challenge.
I started off with a white base and top coat. While that was drying, I began to lay down acrylic paint and water on my palette. I thinned down the paint and added the colors on my nail one by one. This time I used more than 3 colors, and I'm so happy with the outcome. To finish off, I added top coat.
Landscape View:
Doesn't it look neat? I definitely need to do more watercolor manis, they're so pretty.

Well I hope you guys liked this mani. You should check out Paula's page for some great nail art, as well as the AWeeklyDoseOfRainbows hashtag to see the rest of the manis. Thanks for stopping by and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Dots

Purchased By Me / Press Sample

Hi guys! Today's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Rainbow Dots. I did an easy dot design with 3 different colors, now I'm hoping I would've used more. Anyways, check it out.
Holding Love, Angeline "Topped With Love":
I started off with a white base and added a fast drying top coat. When that dried I added acrylic paint dots in a fun pattern. To finish off, I added another coat of top coat. Super simple right?
Oh and take a look at the this mash-up picture I did. I've seen ladies on IG, mainly @gotnail, do this and I thought I'd give it a shot. It was more challenging than I thought it'd be to connect both pictures, but it was fun.
Close-Up of Middle and Ring Finger:
Well I hope you guys liked this mani. Remember to look under the AWeeklyDoseOfRainbows hashtag on Instagram to see manis by the rest of the ladies that participated.

Thanks so much for stopping by, until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Fireworks

Purchased By Me / Press Sample

Hi guys! I hope you all had a Happy New Year with your families, and I wish you all a blessed year. Can you believe we're already a week into 2016? Time sure does fly.

So today I have a better look at my New Year's Eve mani which I posted on Instagram.
Holding Wet N Wild "Black Creme":
Last week's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Rainbow Fireworks, so I incorporated a firework in my mani. I used Wet N Wild "Black Creme" as my base color. On my middle finger I added '2016' down my nail with acrylic paint, and gold glitter paint dots as well. For the firework on my ring finger, I used: white, gold, copper, gold glitter, and black paint. It's my first time doing a firework, so it didn't come out so good, but it's ok. On the rest of my nails I did a glitter gradient using MDJ Creations' "Leg Warmers".
Side-View:
Close-Ups:
The mani came out nicely. I like how the colors in "Leg Warmers" matched and added color to my mani.

Well I hope you guys liked the design. Thanks for stopping by, and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Winter Forest

 Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Hi guys, I hope you're all doing well. I know I'm a bit late but it's ok. Thursday's theme for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows was Rainbow Winter Forest, check out what I did.
Holding Love, Angeline "Topped With Love":
I started by doing a flakie gradient using all KB Shimmer polishes, which will be listed below. When I reached the desired opacity, I added a coat of top coat. After drying, I painted on the trees with acrylic paint, the trees were inspired by nailsbycambria on Instagram. I let everything dry, and finished with 2 coats of top coat. I really need to get a new white paint bottle because the one I have gets all clumpy, which makes the nail art require more than 1 coat of top coat.
Side-View:
Landscape View:
Anyways, I hope you liked this nail art. The flakie background reminded me of the Northern Lights, which went nicely with this design actually. Well thank you for stopping by, until next time.

Green/Blue/Purple: KB Shimmer "Look On The Nightside"

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Fashion

Purchased By Me / Gift / Giveaway Prize

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well. This week's A Weekly Dose of Rainbows theme was Rainbow Fashion, and I had absolutely no idea what I'd be doing. I looked up fashion images on Google and found no inspiration I liked. Then I remembered how much I love the fashion from the show Reign, which is one of my favorite shows. I looked up pictures and there were so many beautiful looks that it was difficult to choose just one. Anyways, I chose a gorgeous gown Adelaide Kane (who plays Mary Queen of Scots) wore for some promotional pictures of the show as inspiration.
Picture from Google:
I started off with gold polish on all my nails as my base color. On my pinky and ring finger I added a nail art water decal from the Born Pretty Store, but I painted half of my pinky with black polish and added some round gold nail studs down the middle. On my index and middle finger I applied some TwinkledT mermaid scale vinyls, after applying top coat of course, and then sponged on some brown polish. I let that dry and added top coat. Afterwards, I put a single chevron vinyl on my index finger and painted the top black. To finish the mani, I added some gold acrylic paint dots in the middle of the scales just like on the dress. My pinky and ring finger represent the skirt of the dress, and my middle and index finger represent the top of the dress.
Glossy:
Matte:
I also had to add matte top coat because I thought it'd look nice.
