Born Pretty Store Review: Glitter Mixes, Stamping Plates & Glass Files

Press Sample / Giveaway Prize / Gift / Purchased By Me

Hi guys! Today I have a review of some Born Pretty Store items to share with you. So let's get to it.

First up, we have this Silver Holo Glitter Mix (item #36993, #1). The glitter comes in a small container in a variety of shapes and sizes. The shapes include: stars, moons, hexagons, mickeys, clovers, hearts, diamonds, circles, triangles, butterflies, turtles, and something that looks like dinosaur footprints to me, or maybe they're flowers. Lol. All of the glitters are holo except for the turtles.
I wanted to do a starry sky mani using the glitter mix, so I chose a dark polish with flakies to resemble the night sky. While the polish was still wet, I began placing the glitters. I allowed the polish to dry and then finished with top coat. It ended up looking ok in pictures, but it looked much better in real life.

Next up is this gorgeous Gold, Black & White Round Glitter Mix (item #37147, #6). The glitters come in 3 different sizes each. The gold glitters are actually holo, and the black/white glitters are matte. I loved this mix so much, it kind of reminded me of New Year's for some reason. Oh, I must say that when I was working with the glitter I did it over my TwinkledT Glamour Mat. Boy was that a mistake, lol. I accidentally ended up spilling nearly half of the glitter mix onto the mat, and it took me quite a while to get them off. They stuck pretty well to the mat, so I recommend you work over a piece of paper so you can return the extra glitter into the container with ease. To pick up the glitters for both manis, I simply wet the end of my orange stick and was able to pick up and place the glitter without any problems. You might need 2 coats of top coat if you want a smooth surface since the glitters might be a bit bulky. I used 2 coats for both glitter manis.
So for this mani I chose a color I thought would work with the colors of the glitter mix. I think this dark green creme helped the glitters stand out.

Okay, now it's time for the stamping plates. The first plate is this Holiday Celebration Rectangular Stamping Plate BPX-L013 (item #38219). It not only has Christmas images, but other images that can be used for New Year's, 4th of July, Spring and even Birthday manis.
I decided to do a colorful Christmas mani. As you can see, I tried to make a decal for my accent nail, and it did come out pretty good but I wasn't able to place it successfully. You can kind of see the wrinkles in there which I didn't like, but that was my fault. I obviously need more practice in making and placing decals. Anyways, I'm really glad I ended up using bright colors because I think the mani ended up looking so cheerful and neat.
Close-Ups:
The second plate was this Christmas Rectangular Stamping Plate BP-L056 (item #37097). This plate mostly has Christmas images, but there was an image on it that looked more galaxy to me, and I knew I had to use it.
I did a gradient with flakie polishes since I thought they'd be best for a beautiful galaxy sky. Once I had that, I went ahead and stamped on the starry image. It came out looking so amazing, I loved it. This plate was my favorite of the 2, it has so many gorgeous Christmas images. Yes, I know the holidays are over, but I still recommend having it in your collection.

Extra Mani Shot:
The last items I received were these beautiful Glass Files (item #37588), the listing says it's a pack of 4 files. I actually received 5 by accident, but Cynthia from Born Pretty Store said it was fine. So the files currently don't come in different colors, and that's something I hope they change in the future. That being said, they work great which is the most important thing. I've been using a regular nail file ever since I got into nail art, and when I first heard of glass files I wanted to give them a try. You use them like you would any other nail file, but they are definitely much more gentle on your nails. I did feel like it took me a bit longer than usual to file my nails, and it felt a bit odd, but it didn't feel as harsh on my nails as it usually does. I was very impressed. Also, if you've ever filed your nails, then you've most likely seen that some nail residue (I guess you can call it that) is left behind after you file your nails. I noticed when using the glass file that not much residue was left over.
This picture is after using the glass file. Although I feel like I will have to get used to using the glass file, I did love how gentle it was on my nails.
Overall, I was very pleased with all the items, especially the glass files. I recommend you give them a try.

I hope you guys liked the manis and review. Remember that you can get 10% off any regular priced items from Born Pretty Store by using my code ANNYW10.

As always, thank you for stopping by. Until next time.

Supernatural Lacquer's Anti-Claus & Hellhound

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize

Hi guys! Today I have some swatches for you. I've been wanting to share these for a while already but hadn't gotten to it, I hope the wait was worth it.

So I purchased these 2 polishes during Stefanie's Black Friday sale and they were my very first Supernatural Lacquers. Anyways, I loved both of them very much. They had a good formula, and they're so pretty.

First up is Anti-Claus, an olive green polish with gold and orange flakies and shimmer. You can also see a hint of holo in there, which makes it even more special. This one has a jelly consistency, the pictures show 3 coats plus top coat and matte top coat on my ring finger.

The second polish is Hellhound, a thermal with bronze flakies and a bit of holo. It's blue when cold, and a pinkish tan when warm. It looks a bit more gray in my pictures for some reason. Also, on my second warm swatch, you can see that it kind of went weird which was completely my fault. I didn't think ahead to the wetting my nails part, and I used my diy glue as a base coat. I guess the glue made the polish wrinkle after I placed my nails so many times under the faucet. Lol. Props to the ladies that can capture thermals perfectly, it was so difficult for me to get these. The weather was a bit more cold at the time, and I just couldn't get it to cooperate with me. Anyways, the pictures show 3 coats plus top coat and matte top coat on my ring finger. I think 2 coats would've been fine though.

Aren't they beautiful? My favorite of the 2 has got to be Anti-Claus, I just love the orange shimmer in the olive green. I'm very happy with my first experience with this brand, and if you're interested in staying up to date with everything Supernatural, I've left the information below.

Ooh La Lacquer's Besos Trio

 Press Sample / Giveaway Prize

Hi guys! Today I have a review on Ooh La Lacquer's Besos Trio, which was formerly the Valentine's Day Trio. Originally, the trio was going to be Limited Edition, but Nastassia has let me know that they will now be permanent to her store and available for individual purchase. This was my first time trying out this brand, and I'm happy to say that it was a great experience. All of the polishes had a wonderful formula which applied beautifully. So let's get to the swatches shall we?
The Besos Trio:
First up we have Muah, a magenta polish with gold flakies and pink shimmer. It's such a beautiful shade, and I love the gold and pink combo. The pictures show 2 coats plus top coat/matte top coat.

Tender Kisses is a light pink holo polish with tiny gold flakies. I didn't see the flakies at first until I started taking the pictures. You'll notice they're more visible in the matte close-up. The pictures show 2 coats plus top coat/matte top coat.

Last but not least is Smooches, a clear base glitter polish full of matte and holo glitters in red, purple and pinks. Personally, I loved the red holo glitters in this polish, they're so pretty and sparkly. Anyways, I applied 3 coats to try to get it opaque, but I still had a few empty spots. I'd recommend sponging it on to reach full opacity, it really depends on the look you're going for. The pictures show 3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat.

I have no complaints with these polishes. Like I mentioned before, they all have a great formula which I love. Also, each shade is different and very pretty. I've linked Nastassia's store and social medias below in case you'd like to stay up to date with upcoming releases.

Snow Coat, Snow Boots, Snow Problems

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize

Happy Monday guys, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I have a swatch for you, so let's get to it.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Meet Snow Coat, Snow Boots, Snow Problems by Noodles Nail Polish. It's a stunning blue-green emerald jelly with silver holo snowflakes, and silver/blue holo hexes in various sizes. I can't begin to tell you how much I love this one. The color is just so wonderful, and it definitely stands out in my polish collection. It applied nicely, but I did have to swish the brush around the bottle to get the snowflakes out, even after I turned the bottle upside down. Honestly though, it doesn't bug me that much because the polish is still so pretty on the nail without the snowflakes. The pictures show 3 coats plus top coat and matte top coat on my ring finger.
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
It looks great matte as well, I love it.

Well I hope you guys liked the swatch. Thank you for stopping by and until next time.

A Weekly Dose of Rainbows: Rainbow Fall Foliage & Rainbow Night

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize

Hi guys! It's time for A Weekly Dose of Rainbows. But this time I have 2 manis since I missed out on last week's theme.

First up we have Rainbow Fall Foliage, which was last week's theme. I began with a white base and put a layer of top coat when it dried. On my index, middle and pinky I did a glitter gradient using "Crushed Leaves" by Pinwheel Polish; appropriately named by the way. It's a milky crelly with fall colored glitter, including: red, orange, yellow, green, gold, copper and dark brown hexagons and squares in various sizes. On my ring finger I painted a tree trunk with acrylic paints and sponged on some "leaves". Unfortunately, the sponge didn't suck up the polish too well, which is why it looks kinda foggy. But that was pretty much my fault, I think I should've changed up the sponge more often.

Next is Rainbow Night, which is this week's theme. I started off with a white base, and then used "Sea Glass & Surf" by Pinwheel Polish. It's a pretty white crelly with a variety of glitters, including: gold, blue, light blue, lilac, lavender, pastel green and iridescent hexagons and squares in many sizes. Over that I painted a moon and some stars with metallic acrylic paints. I mixed gray, silver, purple glitter and gold glitter paint for the moon. For the stars I mixed gold and gold glitter paint, and I also decided to add some copper dots as an extra. I love how this mani came out, and it was so fun to do.
