Melody's Birthday Collab

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Happy Sunday guys! Yesterday was Melody's Birthday (owner of Envy Lacquer), and to celebrate, some ladies from our Facebook group decided to put a collab together. Thanks to Tina who suggested we do this, Jessika for organizing everything, and Kristy for putting together the collage. Check it out, it came out great!
Collage by Kristy:
I was going to do a mani using Envy Lacquer polishes, but then decided to do a fun girly mani based off a cute cupcake charm I just had to use. It was a birthday mani after all, hehe. I painted my index and pinky a bright pink (which freaked out my camera a bit), my ring finger a lilac color, and I used a glitter jelly polish on my middle finger. The jelly polish had pink and lilac which went with the other polishes, but it also had some teal which is one of Melody's favorite colors. So, on my pink nails I added some dots with white acrylic paint, and then filled the dots in with the lilac polish to tie the whole look together. Afterwards, I just added the charm to my ring finger and top coated when everything was dry.
Solo Shot:
I actually like how it came out, and I hope Melody did too. I hope you had a Happy Birthday Melody, you deserve that and more.

If you'd like to see the rest of the manis, just go through the #HappyHappyBirthdayMelody hashtag on Instagram. Again, thanks to the lovely ladies who made this happen.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Thanks for stopping by, and until next time.

Once Upon a Winter Midnight

Purchased By Me / Press Sample

Hi guys! Today I have a swatch and some easy nail art with nail stickers. So let's get to it.

This is Once Upon A Winter Midnight, a Limited Edition polish by MDJ Creations. I purchased this beauty during Melissa's Black Friday sale, and I'm so glad I did. It's a dark navy blue jelly polish with white and silver holo glitter. The glitter mix contains snowflake, moon, diamond, circle and hex glitters. Since this polish has a lot of large glitter, I flipped the bottle upside down for some time. I applied 2 coats with no problem, and I didn't really have to fish for the glitter. The pictures show 2 coats plus top coat.
Holding MDJ Creations' "Once Upon A Winter Midnight":
I just love the glitter mix. Don't you?
Close-Up:
For the nail art part, I just decided to place some Christmas nail stickers over my swatch. I got the stickers at the 99 cents only store during their holiday clearance sale. I was hoping they would be good, but unfortunately, they didn't stick on too well.
The stickers do look adorable, but I did struggle with keeping them down on my nail. Even after I added the top coat, they kept lifting, so I had to hold them in place with my orange wood stick until the top coat dried.
Well I hope you guys liked the swatch and mani. I know the holidays have been over for some time already, but I wanted to try these nail stickers out.

Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time.

Reverie Nail Lacquer's Summer Squish Trio + LE

(Giveaway Prize)

Happy Saturday guys! Today I have a review on Reverie Nail Lacquer's Summer Squish Trio, and Limited Edition (LE) Fairy Pools. I was so lucky to win this awesome giveaway, Michelle's polishes are amazing. These are actually my first Reveries, but I sure do plan to add more to my collection.
Summer Squish Trio + LE Fairy Pools:
Close-ups:
First up is Fresa, a reddish pink jelly full of silver circle glitter, matte hexes in various shades of pink, pink matte circles, iridescent hexes in various sizes, and tiny pink sparkly holo glitter. This polish is so glitter packed that you don't need to fish for glitter. It applied nicely, and I had no trouble with the formula. Also, 2 coats would've been fine but I did 3 for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Open Water is a blue jelly polish full of tiny blue sparkly holo glitter, and matte circle and hex glitter in various sizes and colors including: yellow, orange, blue, and white. There's no need to fish for glitter with this polish either. It applied nicely, and I had no trouble with the formula. I did 3 coats for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Berry Sorbet is a purple jelly full of matte/metallic hexes and circles in various sizes and colors including: lilac, yellow, and many shades of pinks. It also has blue and coral iridescent hex glitter in various sizes. This polish does require a bit of fishing, but it's ok. I think it's totally worth it because it's such a gorgeous polish. It has a good formula, and applied nicely. I had to do 4 coats for opacity.
4 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
The last one is a Limited Edition polish called Fairy Pools. It's a beautiful teal jelly with purple shimmer, hex and circle glitter in various sizes and colors including: pastel teal, pinks, lime green, orange and purple. This polish also contains flower shaped matte/metallic glitters in pinks, lilac and lime green; as well as iridescent hex glitters and blue clear circles. The smaller sized glitters do not need to be fished out. However, the flower glitters are a bit tougher to come across, so I'd recommend you turn the bottle upside down for a few minutes if you want it to be easier to get the bigger glitters out. I had no problem with the formula, and I did 3 coats for opacity.

Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Overall, I thought the collection was great and I'd really recommend it. I loved all the jellies, and I got a very good first impression of the brand. If you're interested in purchasing from Michelle or following her for updates, I've added her links below. Just so you know, her etsy store is on break at the moment, but she'll be opening it back up in a week or so I believe.
