Envy Lacquer "Licorice Whip"

Press Sample / Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize

Hi guys, I hope you're all doing well. I have a swatch to show you of "Licorice Whip" by Envy Lacquer. It was my first time ever trying out this brand and it was a great experience. Not only was the polish beautiful, but it also had a good formula.
So Melody, owner of Envy, wanted some ladies to create galaxy manis using Licorice Whip as a base (I'll be showing you my galaxy mani on my next post). She sent out some minis to a few ladies, and I was among the lucky few. The polish looks pretty fantastic on its own already, but don't take my word for it, just check out the swatches.

Licorice Whip is a black jelly polish with holo shards and holo/blue micro glitter. Just beautiful, I did 2 coats on all my nails. It wasn't fully opaque in a few places, so I'd recommend you do 3 coats, or use it over a black base. I used a matte top coat on my ring finger in the next pictures.

Well I hope you guys liked the swatches, and stay tuned for the galaxy mani I did using this pretty polish. Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Daily Hues Nail Lacquer "Cheyenne"

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize*

Hi guys! I have a swatch for you today. I was able to purchase a polish from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer during her sale a while back, and I'm so happy with it. I added Cheyenne to my wishlist after I saw Cheyenne's (cdbnails143 on Instagram) swatch of it. I knew it would be pretty, but when I finally had it on my nails, I fell in love.
Holding Daily Hues Nail Lacquer "Cheyenne":
Cheyenne is a rich dark purple holo polish. It can easily be a one coater if you apply it carefully, but I chose to do 2 coats. Also, the formula was nice.

Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Isn't it awesome? I usually don't go for purple polishes, but this one is amazing! I highly recommend it.
Look at all that holo!
Thank you very much for stopping by, I hope you all enjoyed this short post. Until next time.

Summer Wine & Tide Pools

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize*

Happy Friday guys! I purchased some polishes from Reverie Nail Lacquer, and I have swatches to show you. I finally got Summer Wine, which I've had on my wish list since it was first released. Tide Pools was also on my wish list, but I was most excited about Summer Wine. Lol. So let's get to the swatches.
First up is Summer Wine, a red jelly polish with a variety of glitter, including: pinks/yellow/orange matte hexes, copper/gold metallic hexes, green/blue/pink-orange iridescent hex glitters, and light pink/yellow circle matte glitter. The formula was good, it went on so smoothly. I was so happy to finally get this polish, and it didn't disappoint. It's beautiful!
Holding Reverie Nail Lacquer "Summer Wine":

Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Tide Pools is a gorgeous glitter-packed dark blue jelly polish with gold shimmer. It has white star glitter, dark green/white/silver/gold/light blue metallic circle glitter, blue iridescent hexes, copper/dark green metallic hexes, and bright blue hexes. There was no need to fish for any glitter. The formula was pretty thick and a bit difficult to work with, but it's totally worth it in my opinion. This one ended up being my favorite of the 2. I just think it's so unique, and the color combination is perfect.

The Polished Bookworms: July 2015

Gift / Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize*

Hi guys! I can't believe it's already time for another TPB mani. Anyway, July's read was Along Came A Spider by James Patterson. It was a pretty long book, I felt like I'd never finish it in time. Lol! But I did, and I felt so accomplished. It was a good read, and it has a twist which I suspected since I've seen a bit of the movie. Actually my dad was watching it, and I happened to see a piece of it, haha. But yeah, I won't say what happens so I won't spoil it for anyone.
I had no idea what I was going to do for my mani. I thought about the many events in the story, but did not know how to depict them. So, I decided I was just going to do the cover art. I did the gradient from the cover, and changed my mind about adding the house and spider from the cover. Instead, I got out some spider temporary tattoos and went with that. I added spiders and spiderwebs over the gradient, and it came out ok. I had some difficulty with the temporary tattoos this time around for some reason, so some of the spiders' legs didn't transfer on right. To correct that, I went in with my brush and some black acrylic paint. To finish the mani I used a matte top coat, I thought it'd look much better that way.

CCNP's Sunshine LE Duo

 Press Sample / Contest Prize

Hi guys! Today I bring you swatches of the Sunshine Limited Edition Duo from Creative Cuticles Nail Polish. The duo is inspired by the sunrise and sunset. They'll be released on July 30th at 11 AM EST, and there will only be 6 duos available for sale. So if you're interested in purchasing them, you'll have to act fast. Now let's get to the swatches, shall we?
First up is Sunrise, a bright yellow crelly full of a variety of glitter. It has tiny yellow matte glitter, lavender holo shards, rose gold holo hexes, and matte peach/light pink/purple hexes. The larger glitter is a bit tougher to come across, so I'd recommend turning the bottle upside down for a few minutes before using. That way you don't have to fish so much for the glitter. I had no trouble with the formula, it went on nicely. I did 4 coats to make sure it'd be opaque, but I think 3 coats would've been enough, it all depends on preference. By the way, the polish is more yellow in real life than what the pictures show. You don't know how difficult it was to photograph this swatch. I was very frustrated and sad that I couldn't capture the actual color.
Holding Creative Cuticles Nail Polish "Sunrise":

Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Next is Sunset, a beautiful bright coral orange jelly with tiny yellow matte glitter and blue/orange hexes. I had no need to fish for glitter with this polish. Also, the formula on this one was wonderful, it went on so smoothly. I applied 3 coats for opacity.

So what do you guys think? Which one is your favorite of the 2? Mine would have to be Sunset, I just love the color and the fact that it's a jelly polish. This was my first time trying out this indie brand, and I have to say it's made a good first impression. Hopefully I'll be able to purchase some polishes from Kayla in the near future. By the way, I've linked her store and social medias down below if you're interested.

Reverie Nail Lacquer's Summer Squish Trio + LE

(Giveaway Prize)

Happy Saturday guys! Today I have a review on Reverie Nail Lacquer's Summer Squish Trio, and Limited Edition (LE) Fairy Pools. I was so lucky to win this awesome giveaway, Michelle's polishes are amazing. These are actually my first Reveries, but I sure do plan to add more to my collection.
Summer Squish Trio + LE Fairy Pools:
Close-ups:
First up is Fresa, a reddish pink jelly full of silver circle glitter, matte hexes in various shades of pink, pink matte circles, iridescent hexes in various sizes, and tiny pink sparkly holo glitter. This polish is so glitter packed that you don't need to fish for glitter. It applied nicely, and I had no trouble with the formula. Also, 2 coats would've been fine but I did 3 for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Open Water is a blue jelly polish full of tiny blue sparkly holo glitter, and matte circle and hex glitter in various sizes and colors including: yellow, orange, blue, and white. There's no need to fish for glitter with this polish either. It applied nicely, and I had no trouble with the formula. I did 3 coats for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Berry Sorbet is a purple jelly full of matte/metallic hexes and circles in various sizes and colors including: lilac, yellow, and many shades of pinks. It also has blue and coral iridescent hex glitter in various sizes. This polish does require a bit of fishing, but it's ok. I think it's totally worth it because it's such a gorgeous polish. It has a good formula, and applied nicely. I had to do 4 coats for opacity.
4 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
The last one is a Limited Edition polish called Fairy Pools. It's a beautiful teal jelly with purple shimmer, hex and circle glitter in various sizes and colors including: pastel teal, pinks, lime green, orange and purple. This polish also contains flower shaped matte/metallic glitters in pinks, lilac and lime green; as well as iridescent hex glitters and blue clear circles. The smaller sized glitters do not need to be fished out. However, the flower glitters are a bit tougher to come across, so I'd recommend you turn the bottle upside down for a few minutes if you want it to be easier to get the bigger glitters out. I had no problem with the formula, and I did 3 coats for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on ring finger:
Glossy/Matte Comparison:
Overall, I thought the collection was great and I'd really recommend it. I loved all the jellies, and I got a very good first impression of the brand. If you're interested in purchasing from Michelle or following her for updates, I've added her links below. Just so you know, her etsy store is on break at the moment, but she'll be opening it back up in a week or so I believe.

Angry Angel

Happy Friday everyone! I have a nail polish and nail art to show you today. I recently made my first indie purchase from Stardust Polish, and I'm so happy to finally have bought from an indie brand. I got some cuticle oil in the Green Apple scent, which smells so good by the way, and a polish named Angry Angel. The package got here in the time estimated, and was safely packaged.
Check out this stunning polish. Angry Angel is a dark red jelly with red holo square glitter and red and silver holo hex glitters in various sizes. All Stardust Polishes I've tried have all dried quickly, and this one did too. I just can't get over how amazing this polish is. It is definitely one of my favorites from my entire polish collection.
Now I must tell you that some of the pictures ended up looking a bit dark, so I apologize for that. I'm not sure why it happened, the rest of the pictures came out well lit (I guess I just have to improve my lighting). Be ready because I took lots of pictures. Anyways, for my swatches I did 3 coats to reach opacity. I applied 2 coats of matte top coat to even it out, and used a glossy top coat after.

Isn't it gorgeous!? It even inspired me to add something extra to it. I took out some striping tape and did some angled tips and an accent nail. The other polish I used for the nail art was Sinful Colors "Starry Night", a black jelly polish with silver holographic glitter and gold flecks (which I purchased late last year). I think both polishes go well together. Surprisingly my accent nail came out nicely, and it wasn't that difficult to do.

Lavish Polish Spring Collection 2015

Hi guys, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I received my giveaway prize from Lavish Polish a while back and I've been wanting to swatch these for you guys. I'm glad to finally be able to show them to you, they're lovely.
So, not only do the bottles have the name of the polish on the bottom label, but they also include the collection they're from. I really liked that, I thought it was a pretty cool because I'll always know which collection they're from.
The formula on these were similar. They do take some time to dry, and you should be careful not to overload the brush or you'll get flooding at the cuticle. The polish itself was very creamy and went on smoothly. I must also mention that they are sheer on the first coat because they're crellies, but you can totally build them up depending on the look you're going for.

First up we have Hydrangeas, a gorgeous blue crelly. This was my favorite of the collection, it's just a beautiful blue. I did 3 coats to reach full opacity, 2 would've been fine but I still had a visible nail line (vnl). Again, you can do however many coats you'd like, I just prefer to see them opaque.
3 coats plus top coat, and matte top coat on the ring finger are shown in the pictures:
Tulips is a pretty purple crelly. I did 3 coats to reach full opacity.
3 coats plus top coat, and matte top coat on the ring finger are shown in the pictures:
Daffodils is a pastel light yellow crelly. It was sheer on the first 2 coats, so I think I'll use a white base next time I use it. I needed 4 coats to reach opacity with this one.
4 coats plus top coat, and matte top coat on the ring finger are shown in the pictures:
Azaleas is a soft, very delicate light pink crelly. I did 3 coats to get it opaque.
3 coats plus top coat, and matte top coat on the ring finger are shown in the pictures:
Wisteria is a delicate lavender crelly, perfect for Spring time in my opinion. I did 3 coats for opacity.
3 coats plus top coat, and matte top coat on the ring finger are shown in the pictures:
Aren't they pretty? I really liked the shades in the collection, very soft and delicate pastel colors. Although I do think a pastel green color would have been a nice addition as well. Also, I normally I don't like purple, but both shades in the collection were beautiful. Wisteria kept reminding me of Fantasy from "The Pagemaster". Hehe! It's a movie I watched as a child, if you haven't watched it I recommend it.

So what do you guys think of the collection? Which polish is your favorite? Mine has got to be Hydrangeas, followed closely by Wisteria and Tulips. If you'd like to follow Emely from Lavish Polish to keep up to date with releases and collections, I have her links below.
