Day 10: Trick or Treat

Slowly catching up with the blog posts, but ok. Lol! I bring you Day 10 today, of the Halloween Nail Art Challenge which is Trick or Treat. I wanted to make lots of candies, and actually have the words "Trick Or Treat" written on as an accent nail.

I first started off with 2 coats of black polish. Then, I began to draw out the candy shapes with white acrylic paint, that way they would stand out more. To make the candies, I used a toothpick and my homemade dotting tools. As you can see in the pictures, I made: a few candy corns, lollipops, some smarties, a caramel candy in a wrapper, and the dot looking candies are Reese's pieces. To give the candies with wrappers the look of being wrapped, I just used watered down white acrylic paint to make the shape of the wrapper ends. Then, I absorbed some of the remaining watered down paint with a brush. That way it looks see through-ish, that's not a word is it? Lol! I just hope you understand what I'm trying to say. After the white paint is dry, you can start coloring in the candies whichever colors you want. I just went with these kind of colors for Halloween. On the accent nail, I sponged on some white on top of the black polish (after it was dry of course) and added 1 coat of the glitter polish on top. Then with a toothpick, I went ahead and drew out the letters (again, with white acrylic paint). I started in the middle to make it centered. For example: with the word "Trick", I first drew out the "i" in the middle and added the rest of the letters as I went. This way you can be sure that the word will be more centered. When I was done, I let the paint dry and added the colored paint after. Once it was all dry, I just added top coat.

I hope you guys enjoyed this "sweet" post on my Trick or Treat nails, hehe. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read. Until next time.
