Glam Nails Challenge: Nov.29 - First Frost

Hey guys! I have the last mani of November's Glam Nails Challenge, and the theme for Nov.29 was First Frost. When I thought about the challenge, frosted windows came to mind. I thought it would be so cool to capture the look of frosted windows, so I looked on Google for some inspiration. Well, it was more for knowledge, lol! I live in Southern California, so I have no idea what a frosted window looks like. After looking online, I put some thought into what products I'd use, and it was a bit tough trying to come up with a way to execute this properly. Anyway, I ended up choosing a sheer frosty white, I applied a coat of that and let it dry. Using that same polish, I applied some on a sponge, and sponged it on the outer sides of each nail. Afterwards, I used a coral image to create the "frost" on the sides. Then, I added some small white shards from a topper polish with the help of an orange stick. To finish off, I sponged on some white on the edges of each nail, and applied top coat when it was dry. I hope you like them.
Close-Ups:
I actually like the way they came out, and I think they look pretty neat. I just hope that I was able to achieve the look I was going for. They look kind of better in real life though.

Just so you know, I'm planning to join the December challenge, so stay tuned for that. Thank you for stopping by, until next time.

Lavish Polish: Vacation Collection

 Press Sample

Hi guys, I hope you're ready because I have swatches of the Vacation Collection by Lavish Polish. This is their Summer collection which consists of 4 crellies, and let me just tell you, they're gorgeous! They all dry pretty quick, and the formulas are easy to work with. The only one that gave me a bit of trouble formula-wise was Bahamas, it did pool on the side of my nails at times, so just be careful when applying it.
First up we have Maui. It's described as a hot pink base polish with silver holo micro glitter, as well as gold shimmer. The color reminded me of Barbie when I had it on. My swatches show 2 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on my ring finger.

I also did some nail art using each polish, here's the nail art I did using Maui. I based the mani around the image of the hula dancer, but I actually didn't mean for the mani to have a Hawaiian theme because of the name of the polish. It just worked out perfectly that way, lol.
Close-Ups:
Up next is Bahamas. It's described as a sky blue base polish with silver holo micro glitter and blue shimmer. This polish reminds me of Cinderella, it's so pretty! My swatches show 3 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on my ring finger.

Here's the nail art I did using Bahamas. I tried to base my mani on what I imagine the beaches there are like.

Next is Bora Bora. It's described as a sea foam green base polish with gold and silver holo micro glitter, as well as some gold shimmer. The gold shimmer makes it that much more special and beachy. My swatches show 2 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on my ring finger.

The nail art I did using Bora Bora was a bit different. I chose a water decal that pretty much matched the polish, and then used black (also in the decal) to complete the look.
Close-Ups:
Last but not least, we have Jamaica. It's described as a peachy orange base polish with silver holo micro glitter, and some gold shimmer. It's stunning! My swatches show 2 coats plus top coat/matte top coat on my ring finger.

The nail art I did using Jamaica is kind of like the last one. I chose a water decal that resembled the polish, and then added some white round glitters to complete the mani.
Close-Ups:
Aren't they beautiful? I can't even pick a favorite, I love them all.

The Vacation Collection by Lavish Polish is now available for purchase as a set or individually.

Well I hope you all enjoyed the swatches and nail art. As always, thank you for stopping by, and until next time.

Mermaid Nails at the Beach & 100th Blog Post!

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize

Happy Friday guys, I hope you're all doing well.

So apparently, this is my 100th blog post. I can't believe it, but here's to 100 more.

Anyways, today I have some Mermaid Nails for you. A few weeks back I went to the beach with my family, and I did this mani for the occasion. Some of you probably saw a sneak peek on Instagram, but now I can finally give you a better look at the mani. I hope you guys like it.
So I started off with the blue and lime green as my base colors. On my lime green nails I decided to stamp some scales, and I used the same blue polish I used on my other nails. Since the image wasn't as opaque as I wanted, I went back and stamped on the image a second time. Unfortunately, it makes the scales look blurry in the pictures, it wasn't as noticeable in real life. I did try my best lining it up to the first image, but I don't have a clear stamper, so I did what I could. Anyways, I let the images dry and moved on to adhering the charms on my other nails. Before applying the charms I applied a coat of top coat and let it dry. Usually I just use top coat to apply my charms, but since I was going to wear these out for a while, I went with nail glue instead. I put some of the glue on my nail and then applied the seahorse on my middle nail. Then I applied the starfish, rhinestone and stud the same way on my ring finger. To finish the mani, I applied top coat on my stamped nails.
Close-Up:
So what do you guys think? I actually really loved them, although it was a bit difficult having bigger charms on my nails because I'm not used to them. Oh, and here's the picture I posted on Instagram, in case you hadn't seen it.
Instagram Sneak Peek:
Well I hope you liked the mani and post. As always, thank you for stopping by and until next time.

The Polished Bookworms: February 2016

Purchased By Me / Gift / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Hi guys, I'm back with a TPB post. I actually finished the book this time, so hooray! Lol. Anyways, we read Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. I have to say that it was kind of difficult to get through the book because it was pretty violent and graphic. That being the case, I decided to base my mani off the book cover.
I started off with a white base, then followed with a gradient which was done with acrylic paints. I added a layer of top coat over the gradient so I could stamp on my nails. The bubbles and water wave images came from 2 different Bundle Monster plates from their Sun Kissed Collection. I stamped on the water waves with a blue polish first, but it blended into my gradient so I used white so they'd stand out. To make the necklace on my ring finger I picked up an image from a Born Pretty Store plate and took parts of the image away with some tape, then I put top coat over the image on the stamper to create a decal. The heart locket took me a while to make, I took some heart studs and "glued" them together by putting a strip of tea bag to connect them, and sealing it in with top coat. Afterwards, I just painted it with the gold polish and added a final layer of top coat to protect the charm.
I'm so happy with how the mani turned out, especially since I created the little charm myself. It definitely looked much better in real life, but I still hope you liked it.

Stamping over "Fine Eyes"

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize / Press Sample

Happy Friday! I hope you're all doing well. Today I have a stamped mani for you. I just recently received some stampers I ordered from the Born Pretty Store, and I have had lots of fun practicing and getting the hang of it. Remember, you can use my code ANNYW10 for 10% off your Born Pretty Store purchase. Anyway, here's my first official stamping mani.
Holding Love, Angeline "Topped With Love":
I applied 2 coats of Aliquid Lacquer's "Fine Eyes", a gorgeous chocolate brown jelly with iridescent glitters/shards. Over that I stamped an image from the Bundle Monster plate BM-501 using Fancy Gloss "Gingerbread Latte". I finished it all off with some top coat.
I love how both colors go together. The only thing I didn't like was that the stamping covered up a lot of my beautiful base color, I probably should've chosen another image. Lol. You can see the iridescent glitters better in the following close-up though.

Well I hope you liked this mani. Thanks for stopping by and until next time.
