Bestie Twin Nails with Lex

Purchased By Me / Giveaway Prize*

Happy Monday guys! Today I have some Bestie Twin Nails to share with you. I was so excited and honored when Lex asked me if I wanted to do some bestie twin nails with her. She's known as lexstasynails on Instagram, and if you don't follow her yet you should. Her designs are freaking amazing, and her work is usually done all freehand which makes it even more awesome. Well anyways, I of course said yes and we began to brainstorm. We decided to do a simple mani with mint green and gray as our colors, and we incorporated chevrons and polka dots. Check out our manis.
Collage was put together by Lex:
I love how both our manis came out. Lex suggested we do them at the same time instead of one of us doing the mani first and the other one of us copying it afterwards. So that's what we did, and they ended up looking pretty similar. The only difference was our polka dots, but I'm still in love with the outcome.
Solo Shot:
To get this look, I started with a base coat and followed with my base colors. Once dry, I added a coat of top coat so I could lay down my vinyls* on my index and ring finger. (The chevron vinyls were part of a giveaway prize, so I don't know where they were purchased.) I added my second color over the vinyls and took them off while the polish was still wet. On my middle finger and pinky I just added polka dots. I finished off with a coat of glossy top coat.

I had a great time collaborating with Lex, so I hope we get the chance to do this again. Well I hope you all enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Bestie Twin Nails with Amanda

Happy Tuesday guys. Can you believe that we're a fourth of the way into the year? That's just crazy. Anyways, tomorrow is the beginning of April, and April is Amanda's (sparklicious_nails on Instagram) birthday month. So to celebrate, Amanda decided to do various Bestie Twin Nail collabs, and I was lucky enough to be one of those she picked. If you guys don't follow her already, you should check out her page. She's very talented. Amanda asked those interested in doing a BTN with her, to send an inspiration. I sent her a picture of a mani done by Cho, who is extremely talented as well, she's better known as chorubim on Instagram. It's a mani I've wanted to recreate for a long time, and it seemed like a very fun and pretty mani to do. You can see it here. Amanda agreed and we chose her favorite colors, since we're celebrating her. We also had to choose a different glitter topper because she didn't have a black and white glitter topper. I'm so happy with the outcome, both of our manis came out very nice. Check out the collage she put together. Isn't it pretty?

So in order to achieve this look, I painted my middle nail a metal silver, and then added 2 coats of a sheer lighter silver so it wouldn't look so dark. On my index and pinky I did 3 coats of white polish, and 2 coats on my ring finger for my gradient. After dry, I used acrylic paints for my gradient as well as the dots. I added the green and blue glitter topper over my finished gradient, and then added top coat to seal off my design.
Mani is more color accurate here:

Close-Ups:
I love our manis! The color combination is just beautiful, and the glitter topper goes well with it too. I hope you guys like them as much as Amanda and I did.

Thank you Amanda for letting me do these with you. I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Well thanks for stopping by guys, until next time.

Bestie Twin Nails with Emily!

I was contacted some time ago by Emily (@blueemster on IG), asking me if I'd like to do some Bestie Twin Nails with her. First of all, I was super excited because I love her account. She does beautiful swatches, and I couldn't believe she was approaching me to work with her. Total fangirl moment.

She wanted to do Cut Out nails because she had done them before, but she wanted to give them another try. I was happy with the suggestion because I'd been wanting to try out the design myself, for quite some time actually. We wanted them to have a kind of stained glass look, so we started talking about colors and the design for the other nails. She came up with the idea of having 2 of our nails all black with a dot of the lighter color towards the top of the nail. The colors we chose were Sea Green (her favorite color) and Blue (my favorite color). I picked a shade of blue that would go best with the Sea Green, and I think the choice was great. The end result was amazing.

Oh, and if you guys aren't following her yet, you totally should. Or at least check out her page and give her some love. She's super nice and talented, it was an honor doing these with her.

Here's the collage that Emily did of our manis, it's so cute.

Here are the Solo Shots of my mani, and the comparisons.

 Matte Top Coat:
Matte Vs. Glossy Comparison:

I started out by making random lines on the nails for the Cut Out nail design. I painted on different sized triangles, and other shapes. I used black acrylic paint to do the lines, and I also used acrylic paint to color in the spaces. I left some of the spaces blank, trying to do it as random as possible. After I painted in the sea green and blue shapes twice (for opacity), I went over the lines again with the black acrylic paint to give it a cleaner look. On my index and pinky, I did 2 coats of the black polish, and added a dot of the sea green acrylic paint towards the top. Once everything was dry, I added Top Coat and I was done. If you have any questions, please leave them below and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. Or for a faster reply, you can leave a comment on my Instagram.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope you enjoyed it.
Have a wonderful day!
